Dr. Donald W McMillian

Dr. McMillian graduated from the University of Georgia in 1959. Dr. McMillian opened Jonesboro Animal Hospital and has been serving the community since 1962. Dr. McMillian is married with 3 children and 6 grandchildren. His pet family includes one dog named "Penny" and a cat named "Sammy". In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, reading and vacationing.

Donald W McMillian Jr.

Dr. McMillian Jr. graduated from the University of Georgia in 1987. He is married with 2 children. Dr. McMillian Jr. also has two dogs, one poodle named "Jacque" and one golden-doodle named "Jill". He enjoys watersking, snowsking and working in the community with his spare time. Dr. McMillian Jr. is now the owner of Jonesboro Animal Hospital.

Julie L Scaccia , DVM

Dr. Julie Scaccia is a recent graduate from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to attending UGA, she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Carolina. She has two cats, "Felix" and "Whisper" and one dog, "Velvet".

Practice Management

Wendy Grizzle

Wendy has been an employee of Jonesboro Animal Hospital since 2005. She always wanted to work with animals, so after graduating from The University of Georgia in 1997, she began working at a veterinary clinic. Although hired as a Kennel Attendant, she was quickly promoted and over the next 8 years, she spent 6 years in management, staffing a clinic of approximately 50 employees. When Wendy joined the team at Jonesboro Animal Hospital in 2005, she immediately felt like part of the "family!" She is proud to work at a clinic that offers high quality medicine with compassionate and caring staff. Wendy shares her home with her four-legged, furry children, including three dogs and five cats.

Administrative Staff

Stephanie Upchurch

Stephanie has been an employee with Jonesboro Animal Hospital since 2003. She is married with two boys. In her spare time she likes to go to concerts and spend time with friends and family. She has a great dog (who also is known as the office manager here at the animal hospital) a 3 year old Doberman named "Link". Stephanie likes working at Jonesboro Animal Hospital not just because of the great clientele and all of the wonderful animals, but because the quality of service given by the staff and doctors is so phenomenal.

Carol Heiselman

Carol has been an employee of Jonesboro Animal Hospital since 2006. She decided that after 23 years in the corporate world it was time for a change. Carol's fur family consists of 2 cats "Oreo" and "Snowball" and 2 dogs "Lenny" and "Misty". Three of them are rescue pets. She is married with 2 children and 1 granddaughter. Carol makes sure that all of our clients know that they are important. Carol is always good for a friendly smile and comforting care when you walk through our door. The reason she enjoys working at Jonesboro Animal Hospital is because of the atmosphere and the feeling of joy from being able to help animals.

Veterinary Assistants

Kim Harrington , Senior Veterinary Technician

Kim has been a loyal employee of Jonesboro Animal Hospital since 1993. She has three pets "Geronimo" a 13 year old Sheltie, "Gandalf" a 4 year old Great Pyrenese and a newborn Great Pyrenese "Gladria" who is 6 months old. All of them enjoy coming to work with her. Big dogs are great for Kim because they fill her big heart! Kim says she likes working at Jonesboro Animal Hospital because "It is like working with part of your family and friends." Kim feels a special bond with many of the clients and their pets.

Rachael Bateman

Racheal has been an employee of Jonesboro Animal Hospital since 2004. Racheal is married with one child. Her four legged family includes one Rottweiler "Bella" and one cat "Ricky Bobby". In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and LOVES to go shopping. She likes her job at the hospital because there is always something exciting and challenging going on. Racheal enjoys working in every department of Jonesboro Animal Hospital from reception to surgery.

Terri Herron

Terri has been an employee at Jonesboro Animal hospital since 2004. Her pet family includes two dogs a golden retriever named "Callie" and a black lab named "Maggie". She also has a ball python named "Hsss". Terri enjoys working with the doctors and staff at Jonesboro Animal Hospital helping clients keep their pets healthy and happy. She also likes the challenges presented at the hospital because of the wide variety of cases that come into the practice.

Brittany Pool

Brittany has been an employee of Jonesboro Animal Hospital since 2006. On her off time she goes to school. She enjoys doing activities with her dog and fiance for fun. Her family includes her fiance, her daughter (a standard poodle) "Cooty" and two cats. Brittany likes working at Jonesboro Animal Hosptial because of the professionalism of the doctors and the staff. She enjoys taking part in different jobs throughout the hospital from training new employees to assisting in surgeries.

Maria Gonzalez

Maria has been an employee with Jonesboro animal hospital since 2007. Maria works at the animal hospital after school. She attends Dutchtown Highschool and is an honor student. She really enjoys working at Jonesboro Animal Hospital because of the care she gets to extend to the animals.

Maren Schaefer

Maren has been an employee of Jonesboro Animal Hospital since 2007. Marens family includes her husband and two cats "Baghira" and "Shirkan". Maren moved here from Germany. Maren really enjoys her job at Joneboro Animal Hospital because of the love she has for every animal. She thoroughly enjoys her position at the animal hospital because she likes being able to help clients and their pets.

Amy Mize

Amy started at Jonesboro Animal Hospital in 2007. Amy is married and has a son and daughter. She has 2 Siberian Huskies and a house ruling cat. When she has spare time she enjoys reading or watching football. Amy enjoys her job at Jonesboro Animal Hospital because it gives her the opportunity to work with animals and their owners, educating not only herself but assisting other pet lovers with their pet's needs.
